 Bansko is the gateway to the Pirin mountain region and is certainly Bulgaria's fastest growing. It is situated in the Southwestern part of Bulgaria close to the Greek border and only 160 km away from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
It offers an irresistible combination of high mountains and ancient history mixed with a modern infrastructure and is on UNESCO's list of World Heritage site.
Today, Bansko combines one of the best mountain resorts in Bulgaria with a friendly, small-town feel.

The skiing conditions in Bansko are excellent and ski season here is long - from the middle of December till mid April.

On January 1st of each year, local men dress in authentic traditional Bulgarian costumes as Koukeri and chase away evil spirits from the streets of Bansko. Other prominent events include an annual Easter concert, the Bansko Tradition Festival in May, the Bansko Jazz Fest in Summer, and an annual Christmas concert.

 Bansko offers conditions for ski-sports which are comparable not only to the leading Bulgarian ski-resorts but also to the European ski-resorts. Perfectly maintained ski pistes with total length of 65 kilometers, 26 kilometers ski- lifts, which are the latest modern tendency in Europe. The highest point of the ski centre is 2560 meters.
The resort has pistes for beginners- 35%, for intermediate- 40%, for advanced 25%.
 Bansko is suitable for restful holidays in summer as well as in winter.
